“Christ Has Regarded My Helpless Estate” Rom. 5.1-8
As the classic hymn It is Well With My Soul affirms, those who are justified by faith now have peace with God through the Lord Jesus Christ. While we were still sinners, Christ died for the ungodly, regarding our helpless estate, and reconciling us to God, who loves us in spite of what we’ve done. (5.1-8)
Our Focus Today
The Holy Spirit has been given to us through Christ! (5.5)
Invocation
Thank you, Eternal God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for sending to us who believe your own Holy Spirit. He dispels shame and fear, and grants us the power to obey you, and to become more like your Son. Fill us with his presence today. Amen.

Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father,
And to the Son and to the Holy Spirit:
As it was in the beginning,
Is now, and ever shall be,
World without end. Amen, amen.

Wednesday: Isa. 34-35; Mic. 2-5

The very love of God is being poured into our hearts through the gift of the Holy Spirit to us.
Reflection
Paul says that we can rejoice even in sufferings because God sanctifies us through the trials. We are not ashamed, for his deep love is being poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Benediction
Thank you, Holy Spirit, for your power and presence in our lives. We know and believe that, because we cling to Christ in faith, you are pouring the love of God into our hearts. Flood our minds and fill our lives with God’s love today. Amen.
Doxology
Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him all creatures here below;
Praise Him above ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Scripture Memory
Joel 2:28–29 (ESV)
28 “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. 29 Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit.
Book Reading and Reflection
Deuteronomy 6:5 says, “Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength” (NKJV). Jesus repeated this command three times in the New Testament (Matt. 22:37, Mark 12:30, Luke 10:27). Why? Because it’s what we were made for—to love God. And if we are in love with Him, we will naturally want to worship Him (shachah). He’s done so much for you and me that it only seems right to fall down before Him (cagad), to throw up our hands in surrender (yadah), to sing His praises (zamar)—to worship Him.
