Eyes Have Not Seen, Ears Have Not Heard, Isaiah 64.1-9
No eye has seen, nor ear has heard, nor has it entered into the heart of a human being the things that God has prepared for those who love him, for the ones who wait upon his goodness and mercy. Regardless of our past failings and present doubts, God has determined to bless his people. He will come and rescue his own, in his own good time and true method.
Our Focus Today
The remnant of God whose hearts are broken beg God to come down and do a work that only he can do for his people, Isa. 64.1-3.
Invocation
Heavenly Father, we join in the plea of the prophet asking you to rend the heavens and come down, making your presence felt among us, that you might make your name known among the peoples. Come in power and with intensity, as when the mountains tremble or fire kindles brushwood. In your power and grace make yourself known, that we may fear you when you arrive. Amen.

Reflection
Isaiah pleads for the Lord to rend the heavens and come down, as the mountains quake in his presence and the fire kindles brushwood and boils water–making his name known and executing judgment on the nations. When he arrives, the peoples will tremble in his presence.
Nicene Creed

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever. Amen.

Benediction
During this Advent season, we pray that you would rend the heavens and come down among us, come to us, and make your presence felt among us. Reveal yourself to your people and cause us to tremble before you that we may fear you as our God. You alone can bring healing and renewal to our hearts. Amen.
